Summer Song

Summer song

SHREEKUMAR VARMA

the bluest blue that comes to stay

a month or two, or maybe three,

that chases all the clouds away---

it's nature on her warming spree!

the master artist took his place---

white sheets four and colours more;

the first three go at rapid pace,

he takes a while for number four.

there's autumn, spring and winter first,

a pause before the brightest one:

his lips already parched with thirst,

he picks his brush and gets it done.

what fun, he grins, for summer's here

Sri Sri Ravisankar was attacked

BANGALORE: An unidentified gunman made an attempt on the life of Sri Sri Ravishankar, Art of Living founder, on the premises of his ashram here on Sunday evening.

The assailant missed the target and injured one Vinay, who was standing near the Guruji, police said. He was injured on the thigh.

The incident occurred after the culmination of a mega Satsang on the Art of Living campus on Kanakapura Road, in which about 8,000 people participated. Police said the Guruji was safe.

Police suspect the miscreant used a .22 revolver. However, neither the weapon nor the assailant was traced until midnight.

Karnataka Home Minister V.S. Acharya told reporters that security at the ashram had been tightened and Inspector-General (Central range) Kamal Pant had been asked to rush to the spot. The Minister, however, denied that anyone was injured in the incident.

The Talaghattapura police have closed all the gates of the ashram complex and are frisking and screening all visitors.

PTI reports:

After the incident, the 54-year-old Guruji said: “I am absolutely safe.”

Ashram spokesperson Charu told PTI that the incident took place around 6.15 p.m. She said the Guruji was undeterred by the incident and returned at 7 p.m. to address his followers.

Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their TV sets and switch off their lives."

Question: Who do you think as most important celebrity ?

He can play that leg glance with a walking stick also.

- Waqar Younis

Sachin Tendulkar has often reminded me of a veteran army colonel who has many medals on his chest to show how he has conquered bowlers all over the world. I was bowling to Sachin and he hit me for two fours in a row. One from point and the other in between point and gully. That was the last two balls of the over and the over after that we (SA) took a wicket and during the group meeting i told Jonty (Rhodes) to be alert and i know a way to pin Sachin. And i delivered the first ball of my next over and it was a fuller length delevery outside offstump. And i shouted catch. To my astonishment the ball was hit to the cover boundary. Such was the brilliance of Sachin. His reflex time is the best i have ever seen. Its like 1/20th of a sec. To get his wicket better not prepare. Atleast u wont regret if he hits you for boundaries.

- Allan Donald

On a train from Shimla to Delhi , there was a halt in one of the stations. The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing century, batting on 98. The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train waited for Sachin to complete the century. This Genius can stop time in India !!
